This is a good little camera for quick trips to family outings or sites where you don't want to lugg a big camera along. The main problem I have with this camera is it doesn't pick up purple hues and captures them as blue. I bought the camera to take pictures of my projects and to post on my website but now I have to figure out another camera to purchase that will capture purples since that is one of my most popular selling colors. USB port door is a little flimsy and the zoom is a little too fast. Got this as a replacement for an earlier Coolpix camera. The features/buttons were the same, and the shutter speed and picture quality are much improved over my earlier camera. The only downside - battery life. My initial use was on a trip to Sweden, and I ran the battery down before the first full day of picture-taking. I got this camera the day it was first available. It has terrific features including: a 10x optical zoom, vibration reduction, 14 megapixels and HD video 780p. All of this in a compact camera. There are many features you should explore including the feature packed Scene selections. I have had many point and shoots and this one is the best overall in this price range. There is a little more noise than I would like in some of the low light photos. You can adjust the settings so it doesn't use the high ISO unless you want it to. Low light photography is much easier with the Vibration Reduction feature too. Hand holding in low light is not a problem-using a flash is now not mandatory indoors.

Para la comunidad hispanoparlante, les comento mi gran conformidad y satisfacción con mi nueva camara PENTAX K-X. Adquirí el kit con lentes 18-55 y 50-200mm y la verdad es que tirar fotos es un gusto. Las caracteristicas y capacidades de esta camara son solo comparables con camaras de precios mucho mayores en otras marcas como Canon o Nikon. Es decir que se obtiene la mejor relación precio calidad del momento para este segmento pensado para quienes nos gusta la fotografia y queremos tener resultados casi profesionales con la menor inversión.
Muy contento con la camara aunque aún me queda un monton de cosas por probar y aprender, como ser el video que aún no le inco el diente.
