The whole package is great - camera, lens, dvd's, bag, cleaning kit, card and reader, etc.... As a first time DSLR user, the camera is very intuitive and forgiving. Priced separately, this package would appear to be well over $100 more. I'm not sure why you wouldn't get this package if you are just starting out. I ended up purchasing another Ultra SD card, a UV filter and a lens cap strap (to keep the lens cap attached to the lens when you take it off). I'm certain at some point I will get a 55-200 lens as well but this one suits me just fine for now.
