From January through to mid March I searched for a point and shoot with low shutter lag. I have a very fast child and all the cameras I have used until now were too slow and I was missing shots. For this feature most people referred me to a DSLR. And I am sure they are right about that being the very best option. But when I asked them if they took their camera with them they confessed having missed opportunities because their DSLR was too bulky to throw in a purse. With my limited budget (around $200) and need for portability I was persistent in looking for a point and shoot.
