I am a fan of Nikon and love my D40x and thought I would like a small Nikon point and shoot for a recent trip where I did not want to risk damage to my DSLR. I was not happy with the experience. The Coolpix L20 is very difficult to use in anything but full auto. Low light exposure is grainy and very sensitive to movement. Shutter controls are menu driven and hard to get to in a short time situation. Overall versatility did not come close to my Kodak EasyShare V550 by any comparison. Camera has some problems finding focal point under many conditions and I found that (in my opinion) the camera is only useful on bright sunny days and even then the photos are sometimes out of sharp focus.
